Riding Skills Workshop

Want to have more fun on your two-wheeler? The Hawaii Bicycling League will conduct a one-hour workshop that will teach participants the skills to riding on the road safely. Discussion topics include lane positioning, rules of the road, how to ride more efficiently, theft prevention, and much more! Participants are encouraged to bring a helmet and bicycle so everyone can get rolling together!

Shadow Puppets

Storyteller Jeff Gere will share shadow puppet tales. His show tells the story of  “A Night on the Silk Road” where a Muslim, an Italian, and a Jewish character meet around a campfire and share stories. This 45-minute program is suitable for all ages. Paws on the Path Hiking Club

Join other pet owners as they hit trails around Oahu. The Paws on the Path club meet the last Saturday of every month to hike together. Bring water for you and your pet, your cell phone and check the Hawaiian Humane Society's website for any updates on weather cancellations.    The group meets at 8:30 a.m. to begin the hike at 8:45 a.m.

Join Barnes & Noble for a special Countdown to Midnight Party, leading up to the release of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Parts One & Two, a special rehearsal edition script book, which goes on sale 7/31 at midnight. School Supply Drive

The Rotary Club of Kahala Sunrise is a group of professionals and volunteers from diverse backgrounds that come together to give back and serve the communities that we all live in. This month, the club is hosting a school supply drive at Long’s Drugs Moiliili. Monetary donations and school supplies will be collected with the proceeds going to support elementary schools in East Honolulu.

Bottle Art Workshop

Put bottle caps and plastic and glass bottles to creative use in this workshop. Use a variety of materials and techniques to turn these trashed materials into art pieces. Meet the Monk Seals at The Waikiki Aquarium

Ask all of your monk seal questions every first and third Tuesday of the month at 3 p.m. Aquarium biologists will introduce you to the resident seals, Makaonaona and Hoailona.  Participants will assist with seal enrichment activities.  Designed for participants 7 and up, but anyone interested is invited to attend.  $7/person ($10/person for non-members).

The Ukulele Club of Hawaii invites players of all ability levels to strum down to Windward Mall every first Tuesday of the month.  Bring your own ukulele or borrow one from a limited supply. Ukulele tuning begins at 5:30 p.m., the lesson begins at 6 p.m.  For more info, click here.

In 2016, Waimea Valley will offer free admission to kamaaina kids 12 years and younger every Wednesday for the first time ever.  In addition to access to the swimming hole, games, botanical garden and more, there will be additional educational games and demonstrations which could include tours, hula, crafts, music and storytelling with the park's kupuna.
