The Amazing Castle Exhibit

Explore a fantasy castle and medieval world in the newest exhibit at the Hawaii Children's Discovery Center. The Amazing Castle offers kids a chance to dress as lords and ladies, pick vegetables, cook a royal meal, do village tasks or even meet a sleeping dragon. This special exhibit will be at the Discovery Center until May 4.

Puppet Times with Christy Lipps

Christy Lipps and her playful puppets bring to life several favorite children's stories, fingerplays and songs. Her show is 35 minutes long and is suitable for preschoolers, kids 2 to 5 years.

Meet the Monk Seals at The Waikiki Aquarium

Ask all of your monk seal questions every first and third Tuesday of the month at 3 p.m. Aquarium biologists will introduce you to the resident seals, Makaonaona and Hoailona.  Participants will assist with seal enrichment activities.  Designed for participants 7 and up, but anyone interested is invited to attend.  $7/person ($10/person for non-members).

Ukulele Lessons at Windward Mall

The Ukulele Club of Hawaii invites players of all ability levels to strum down to Windward Mall every first Tuesday of the month.  Bring your own ukulele or borrow one from a limited supply. Ukulele tuning begins at 5 p.m., the lesson begins at 6p.m.  For more info, click here.

Change: 125 Years through the Eyes of Bishop Museum

Look back at the last 125 years of Hawai‘i’s history through the more than 1,000 historic photographs that are on display in this special exhibit. The photos are separated into 15 themes, such as food, entertainment, fashion, transportation, and there are also interactive displays to help relate the photos to life today. Now through March 16, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., except on Tuesdays.

Dinosaurs Unleashed at Bishop Museum

They’re back! Lifelike animatronic dinosaurs will once again invade the Bishop Museum. The interactive exhibit gives all ages an up-close look at the creatures that once walked, swam and soared over the Earth.

Art in the Park

Art in the Park is a drop-in art program every Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Children will explore a variety of art media through three open-ended art activities that encourage children to nurture their creative spirit. The cost is $1 per child with Center admission, or $3 per child without Center admission. Call 524-KIDS (5437) for more information.

Looking for something to do after school? Every Wednesday at 3 p.m., the Aquarium hosts an interactive learning activity near the Monk Seal Deck. Join us for a critter encounter or a marine science craft designed for families. Free with admission to the Aquarium.

Children's Film and Music Festival

Ko Olina will host the 2nd Annual Children's Film & Music Festival, Saturday, March 7th, 2015, a benefit for the Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children. Last year, over 3,000 keiki and adults enjoyed the festivities and helped raise $50,000 for Kapiolani's Campaign for Hawaii's Children fund drive.
