The Bishop Museum's exhibit Scream Machines: The Science of Roller Coasters features interactive stations and hands-on activities. Kids will learn about the science behind roller coasters and what makes them work. And, they'll also get to experience the thrill of riding in some of the world's best roller coasters by viewing the ride on a large screen from the seat of a roller coaster car.

Halloween at Salt Lake Shopping Center

The Salt Lake Shopping Center is celebrating Halloween on Saturday, October 25 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with trick-or-treating, crafts, prize giveaways, games and a costume contest. Children 12 and under must register between 10 and 11 a.m. The Salvation Army will also be on-site collecting canned food and monetary donations.

Spook-tacular Halloween Celebration at Salt Lake Shopping Center

Make-and-take crafts, games, a costume contest and center-wide trick-or-treating will be part of this celebration. Kids 12 years and younger can vie for prizes for the cutest, most creative and spookiest costumes in age groups 5 and younger, 6 to 9 years and 10 to 12 years. Bring canned food to donate to The Salvation Army then take a photo in the Halloween photo-taking area.

Halloween Spook-tacular at Hawaii Kai Towne Center

The Hawaii Kai Towne Center is throwing a pirate-themed Halloween celebration on Saturday, October 5th, from 5 to 8 p.m. with pirate rides (ages 12 and under), a costume contest, pumpkin picking, crafts and games. Rides are $1 per ride, or one canned donation per three rides, all of which goes to The Salvation Army.

Ku A Mo'o at Honolulu Theatre for Youth

Another world premier, this original show is a collaboration with the Bishop Museum and tells the story of a Hawaiian girl who is looking into the secret of her family's history. You'll also learn about the Mo'o, the lizard-like guardians of old Hawaii.   Tickets: Adults, $20; Children 3-18, $10; 60+, $15.

Precision Parkour Zombie Survival Event

Learn how to avoid zombies and other scary critters at Precision Parkour's special event. Instructors will teach keiki how to safely run, jump, climb and vault. Then kids can take a turn through the "lazer maze", obstacles and a Nerf gun zombie battle.   Kids ages 5 years and up are 7-8 p.m. Adults are 8:15-9:15 p.m.
