PreSchool Nature Hour

Meet the Monk Seals at The Waikiki Aquarium

Ask all of your monk seal questions every first and third Tuesday of the month at 3 p.m. Aquarium biologists will introduce you to the resident seals, Makaonaona and Hoailona.  Participants will assist with seal enrichment activities.  Designed for participants 7 and up, but anyone interested is invited to attend.  $7/person ($10/person for non-members).

The Bishop Museum's exhibit Scream Machines: The Science of Roller Coasters features interactive stations and hands-on activities. Kids will learn about the science behind roller coasters and what makes them work. And, they'll also get to experience the thrill of riding in some of the world's best roller coasters by viewing the ride on a large screen from the seat of a roller coaster car.

Art in the Park

Art in the Park is a drop-in art program every Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Children will explore a variety of art media through three open-ended art activities that encourage children to nurture their creative spirit. Fright Night at the Kapolei Public Library

Kids up to 6th grade can have some Halloween fun at the library. There will be a costume contest, balloon twisting by Balloon Monsoon, crafts and goody bags. Grab some crayons to also enter the pumpkin coloring contest. While you're there, borrow some spooky books for bedtime. The program is an hour-and-a-half.

Halloween at Salt Lake Shopping Center

The Salt Lake Shopping Center is celebrating Halloween on Saturday, October 25 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with trick-or-treating, crafts, prize giveaways, games and a costume contest. Children 12 and under must register between 10 and 11 a.m. The Salvation Army will also be on-site collecting canned food and monetary donations.

Halloween Spook-tacular at Hawaii Kai Towne Center

The Hawaii Kai Towne Center is throwing a pirate-themed Halloween celebration on Saturday, October 5th, from 5 to 8 p.m. with pirate rides (ages 12 and under), a costume contest, pumpkin picking, crafts and games. Rides are $1 per ride, or one canned donation per three rides, all of which goes to The Salvation Army.
