Free Scary Face Pancakes

As a special Halloween treat, IHOP is offering kids free Scary Face pancakes only on October 31. Scary Face pancakes are buttermilk pancakes that come with whipped topping, a strawberry nose plus candy corn and mini Oreos that they can then use to decorate the rest.

Bishop Museum: Scream Machines Exhibit

The Bishop Museum's exhibit Scream Machines: The Science of Roller Coasters features interactive stations and hands-on activities. Kids will learn about the science behind roller coasters and what makes them work. And, they'll also get to experience the thrill of riding in some of the world's best roller coasters by viewing the ride on a large screen from the seat of a roller coaster car.

These classes fill up as soon as they’re announced. But there are just a few (very few) spaces left in November’s holiday themed workshops for older kids. This weekend, theyʻll make butternut squash soup, next itʻs mashed potatoes. The pie workshop for younger kids is full.

A weekend filled with kayaking, arts & crafts, archery, tower climbing sʻmores and more gets a fall festival feel with a haunted house, costume contest, trick-or-treating and more.   Check in starts at Friday, 3:30 p.m. Check out is Sunday by 2:30 p.m. Rates start at $140 per person. Trick-or-Treat Halloween Event at Maemae Elementary School

Leeward Discovery Fair

Kids are encouraged to touch everything at this interactive, educational fair. Create DNA jewelry, make geometric shapes with bubbles, turn liquids into solids with goo, play with disappearing snow, freeze a flower and more. When you’re too hungry to continue, pick up a hot dog or shave ice and stop by the Scholastic Book Fair on the way out.

Eat, shop and enjoy entertainment at this annual exposition by the Chinese Chamber of Commerce.  Watch cooking demos, sample everything from siu mai to lup cheong fried rice, and make crafts in the keiki corner.  Live entertainment includes acrobatics shows and dancing. The popular lion pole dances will take place just before the festival closing on both days.

Ku A Mo'o at Honolulu Theatre for Youth

Another world premier, this original show is a collaboration with the Bishop Museum and tells the story of a Hawaiian girl who is looking into the secret of her family's history.
