Tip-A-Cop Fundraiser for Special Olympics Hawaii

Big City Diner, Dave & Buster's, Genki Sushi, Kakaako Kitchen, Kincaid's Fish Chop and Steak House, Ryan's Grill and Wahoo's Fish Taco will be participating in Special Olympics' Tip-A-Cop Fundraiser. Diners on July 31 to August 1 from 6 to 9 p.m. will be waited on by volunteer law enforcement officers at each restaurant.

Get a trim for free at the Paul Brown Institute at Remington College. For the entire month of August, cosmetology students will be offering haircuts free to kids 17 years and younger.

The Actors' Group: Resistance!

The Actors' Group presents Resistance!—a historical drama by Richard Caulfeild Goodman. This educational play is about former slave William Parker, who resisted the Fugitive Slave Act in Pennsylvania in 1851. With the aid of abolitionists, Parker eventually helped to overturn this terrible act.

Family Fun Days at Fun Factory

Sundays will be special days at the Fun Factory. For the next six weeks, a party will be moving from branch to branch. Families there can get 50 percent off most games, free balloon twisting, face-painting and prize drawings every 30 minutes. At 3 p.m., one person will win the grand prize, a Go-Pro Camera. Prize drawings - 10:30 a.m.-3 p.m.

Meet the Monk Seals at The Waikiki Aquarium

Ask all of your monk seal questions every first and third Tuesday of the month at 3 p.m. Aquarium biologists will introduce you to the resident seals, Makaonaona and Hoailona.  Participants will assist with seal enrichment activities.  Designed for participants 7 and up, but anyone interested is invited to attend.  $7/person ($10/person for non-members).

Ukulele Lessons at Windward Mall

The Ukulele Club of Hawaii invites players of all ability levels to strum down to Windward Mall every first Tuesday of the month.  Bring your own ukulele or borrow one from a limited supply. Ukulele tuning begins at 5 p.m., the lesson begins at 6p.m.  For more info, click here.

Art in the Park

Art in the Park is a drop-in art program every Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Children will explore a variety of art media through three open-ended art activities that encourage children to nurture their creative spirit. Ke Kani O Ke Kai Concert at the Waikiki Aquarium

The Hawaiian music concert series Ke Kani O Ke Kai returns to the Waikiki Aquarium this year with performers Hookena, HAPA, Cyril Pahinui, Natalie Ai Kamaau, Mark Yamanaka, Ben Maila, Weldon Kekauoha, Melveen Leed, Kuana Torres Kahele and Makana. Participating restaurants also include The Grove, Kani Ka Pila Grille, Da Spot and HASR Bistro.

Behind the Scenes tour at Waikiki Aquarium

Every second and fourth Tuesday of the month at 3 p.m., learn what makes the Aquarium run, from fish food to quaran­tine, and many stops in between. Climb up and peer into the exhibits and see how they are created. Visit the Coral Farm where coral is propagated and see the animals before they go on exhibit. Mini­mum age 7 years; youngsters must be accompanied by an adult.
